How to get to La Desirade
The island of La Désirade is located 45 minutes by boat and only fifteen by plane from Saint François.
The boat :
It will take you less than an hour to reach us. Regardless of the rumors, the crossing is not rough but even rather pleasant. You will follow the coast and see the hidden side of the Pointe des Chateaux!
For the moment there is unfortunately only one company which links La Désirade to the mainland. You can book your tickets in advance online, or take them directly from the ticket office at the Saint François ferry terminal. Our advice: Contact us beforehand, we will give you the best possible indications to plan your crossing.
The plane :
The trip is generally made in planes with 2 to 6 seats maximum. Fly is very fast, barely fifteen minutes! The landscapes are also exceptional. You will fly over the lagoons of Saint François and the magnificent Pointe des Chateaux, while viewing in the distance the exceptional inverted boat that is La Désirade.
Unfortunately, this is not the preferred means of transport. The price is indeed higher than that of the boat. But we think the benefits are worth it!
To reach us by plane, contact Saint François aerodrome or La Désirade tourist office. If you choose to fly, we will gladly pick you up at La Désirade aerodrome.
